Review - I used to live in New Orleans, and I swear by Barrow's down there. I've tried a lot of bad catfish in a lot of places since I left, years ago, but nothing has been right. The breading would be too thick, or it'd be rubbery, or the fish would be poor, or they just plain didn't know how to cook it, or often, all of those.
Still, Jordan's looked promising, so I got a catfish sandwich, and I have to say it's the best catfish I've had since I left New Orleans. There was simply nothing wrong with it, the breading was light and the proper consistancy, the catfish used was very good, the oil was clean, the cook time was perfect and the result was some very excellent fried catfish. It could have used two adjustments to bring it all the way up to the very best. The batter didn't seem to have quite enough cornmeal. It wasn't the flat sheets of flour type, but didn't quite have the perfect crunch. Also, a bit more seasoning could bring out the flavor a little better. Still, if you've got a craving, and don't care to fly down south for lunch, grab what may be the best catfish outside New Orleans.
By the way, unlike Barrows, they do have a fairly good menu of other foods, though I can't comment on the quality of them. Don't expect to eat siting down though, this is strictly take-out.

Review - Excellent! You actually can't eat inside of the place. It's really a takeout place. Everything is fried to order. Fresh, delicious...never disappoints!
