Review - This is a class act restaurant. The Italian food menu offers many choices presented in different ways. There are several nice touches including the amuse bouche. The decor is quite elegant but certainly not formal. This is a nice alternative to the City especially on a Saturday night.

Review - A very enjoyable dining experience. This restaurant was delicious in every way. The decor was magnificent not to mention the food. Everything was delectable from the butternut squash ravioli which were to die for... to the heavenly desserts!! D

Review - Porto Leggero is darn good. Watch out Lower Manhattan you have major competition. There are so many nice things that happen while you are dining that you are bound to come back several times. First you are in a power-scene building with a decor that's awsome! The maitre d' is a gentleman who knows his customers. Quite obviously, he has trained his staff in the European tradition of fine waitering. Then there is a thing called food--great choices, excellent preparation, incredible taste and presentation. BRAVO!

Review - Okay so the food is fine considering that there is no real competition in Jersey City. It is great if you want fine dining in the neighborhood. It is no threat to NYC restaurants. I recommend it if it is convenient. It is good. Not memorable.

Review - I certainly read all the reviews before heading to Jersey City. The Harborside District is powerful and impressive--I never expected such a complex. Then we stepped into Porto Leggero in building 5. WOW, WOW, WOW! Who were the designers---this is a feast for the eyes decor. The food and presentation were novel, giving you a distinct choice of preparation. I thought this was simple, high quality food but not necessarily with layers of flavor. Maybe the selection needs to match the decor a little more. The service is very well done and the greeting by the owner was great. So where are the reviews? Nothing happens in this City by the Sea until the NYT or Zagat gives its seal

Review - I was there on a Monday night for my first time and I was blown away at how amazing this place is. I am not a big fan of Jersey restaurants but this is by far one of the best places I've been to in a long time. This is coming from someone who is a big fan of Il Mulino in NY. The butternut squash pasta is to die for!!

Review - There is no doubt in my mind that either the people submitting the reviews don't know much about good food or the owners of Porto Leggero are closely monitoring the reviews and submitting comments. Believe me, the decor is wonderful, the food is not necessarily worth the trip to Jersey City. By all means don't discard Porto Leggero but only if it is a convenient place for you to go to.

Review - Excellent on all counts. It is a completely non-smoking restaurant with a gorgeous interior; wonderfully attentive staff; delicious, beautifully presented food in perfectly sized portions...What else can I say, except Go.
