Review - I checked out the place. I did NOT stay there so take my opinion with the knowledge that I just checked out two apartments in 15 mins. Old building so doesnt compare with new construction. Parking available. Building looks a bit rundown and the crowd ... Didnt feel very comfortable. Very cheap rent though for that area. Rent controlled apartments. Value for money as far as location goes. At the beginning of Boulevard East so shorter commute into the city. Go for it if you are looking for a cheap deal - irrespective of other factors.

Review - PROS:
- Near the mouth of Lincoln Tunnel
- Close to everything: NJ Turnpike, IKEA, Airport, Hoboken, Jersey City, Malls, Grocery Stores, Movie theaters, Ferry, Edgewater, Secaucus and of course NYC
- Commute to NYC, First Stop off the bus coming from NYC (PABT), Rush hour time: avg 10 - 30 min. depending on the traffic clog at the tunnel.
- Short walk for a great NYC view
- Parking spot incl in rent (I didnt have a car though) & some apartments have utilities incl in the rent, great cost saver, rent controlled apartments (but this could change)
- No thefts or shady people hangin around as far as I've noticed after living there for 1 year.
- Top apartments have NYC views! but are very expensive, go figure.
- Serviced by NJ Transit ($2.10)and Private shuttles (every 10 Min) going to NYC ($ 2.00)
CONS:
- NOISE! most apartments windows are broken/cracked; old and the engine noise from all the cars/buses is annoying. I didnt receive any word from management when they will replace with better soundproof windows after asking them a million times, glad I moved but one gets used to the noise.
Major Heat leak during winter months...
- Old appliances, old snail speed elevators which sometimes do not work 2 am to 8 am. Old Heaters keep breaking down all the time.
- Super is lazy or has too many things on his plate, I had to call him 4 to 5 times on avg. to get him to do something but he is friendly and fixes stuff fast.
- Last stop on Blvd east for buses/private shuttles to NYC (PABT) many times during the am rush hour, they're full so they dont stop, not a good thing to wait for lnext bus with some empty seats, especially in winter months.
- Have to get renter's insurance, everyone does.
- Other people in building are somewhat friendly but not intimidating either. Good mix of couples, families, old timers and singles. Everyone keeps to their own. Not a place for a social butterfly.
- Some apartments had problems with roaches, I never did (thank god!)
Overall, it was a decent experience living there. My main criteria was cost of rent and proximity to NYC.

Review - I lived here for one year and that was enough. I had one of the better apartments in the building, but at night I could hear mice in the walls. The super is awful, unless you have enough money to bribe him to fix things (even though that is his job anyway). I've complained about the super to the management company, but they obviously could care less.

Review - Please note that there have been several thefts in the building including my apt....do not give ur keys to anyone including the super or building management. I never recovered any of the stolen items nor did I have renters insurance....based on what happened it appears to be an inside job....be very careful and change all locks by someone u trust and not the people who manage the building.....most of all get renters insurance.
